Design Core Detroit is honored to celebrate the 13th annual Detroit Month of Design September 1st - 30th, 2023.

The Detroit Month of Design was established to connect creatives with one another, introduce them to new consumers, and expose Detroit’s creative talent and design aesthetic to national and global audiences. Taking place throughout the City of Detroit, the Month of Design festival features a mix of independently-produced events that include exhibitions, installations, product launches, lectures, panel discussions, tours, open houses, retail happenings and workshops.

Are you a designer, curator, or organization that has an online or in-person event or experience that shows how design can be used as a tool for building resiliency and unifying communities? If so, we want to hear from you!

Festival events will be selected by a curatorial committee of local experts to be included in the official 2023 calendar. Selected events and experiences will be listed on the Month of Design schedule, included in general festival marketing, and be provided with festival-specific promotional language and graphics. Additional marketing may also be provided based on media interest.
